Enterprise Week – Day 2

Today, here in ‘Mother’s Day Madness’ we have been very busy!

We have all designed and planned our lanterns ready for drilling.

15

We have all had a practice at weaving for our coasters and placemats.

14

We have also completed our second layer of paper mache on our pots and money boxes.

10

Our leaders Charles and Andie have taken on lots of responsibilities today (including helping other children, harvesting ideas and growing cress!) and tomorrow will be leading the day independently!

If you are here from another Enterprise Group, why not comment and let us know how your group leader(s) are getting on?

Enterprise Week – Day 1

This week is our Enterprise week where we make products from recycled materials and sell them on. Here in our group, ‘Mother’s Day Madness’, we are combining all of our skills and ideas to make the best products possible.

Today we made models out of recycled material for our money boxes and plant pots.6

We then paper mached them with newspaper strips and glue.

8

It was very messy! We also went for a talk with a man from DeMontfort Uni  about how to be enterprising and making things new and exciting.

5

This has got us thinking about how to make our products innovative and different to other peoples – do you have any ideas to make our money boxes and plant pots stand out from the crowd?

MATHS CHALLENGE OF THE WEEK – Chicken Crossing Puzzle…

Well done to Tom and Jaden who both gave a correct answer to our probability puzzle last week!

And now here is this week’s classic logic puzzle for you…

imgres.jpg

A man has to get a fox, a chicken, and a sack of corn across a river.

He has a rowboat, and it can only carry him and one other thing.

If the fox and the chicken are left together, the fox will eat the chicken.

If the chicken and the corn is left together, the chicken will eat the corn.

How does the man do it?
