Here is your next maths challenge:
Where should you put plus signs between the digits below to make a total of 99?
9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1
For example, you could try:
9 + 8 + 76 + 6 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 21 = 126 (too high!)
9 + 8 + 7 + 6 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 2 + 1 = 45 (too low!)
There are two solutions to this problem but they are not easy to find so you may need to try a few different ways!

Nicholas you can only use each number from 9 – 1 once, choosing where to put + signs to make one long sum. Look at the examples and have another go – but well done for coming on the blog and having a try! 🙂

Good effort John Paul but that is not quite right.
You should write the numbers 9 to 1 in a row and decide where to put + signs in between them so it all adds up to 99. You can keep two numbers next to each other to make a bigger number, but can only use each number once.
e.g. 98 + 7 + 6 + 5 + 4 + 3 + 21 = 144.
This is tricky so have another go 🙂
